The Perfect Steak... it doesn’t have to be an elusive experience, only available in a high-end restaurant. You can have the perfect steak at home — just start with a quality cut, some Abilene Depot Steak & Burger Rub , and our simple tips.
Bring steaks to room temperature before grilling by allowing to stand covered for about 30 minutes on your kitchen counter.
Lightly drizzle each side of the steaks with avocado oil or olive oil. Season steaks on both sides liberally with Abilene Depot Steak & Burger Rub.
Preheat BBQ or grill pan to high heat. If using a propane or charcoal grill, clean grill grates with wire brush once ash is formed.
Place steaks on grill or grill pan.. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side for medium rare, or until internal temperature reads 130-135°F. (See caboose-spices.com/temps for internal temperature recommendations for other levels of doneness.)
Once steak is cooked to desired doneness, remove from grill. Place on a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Let rest for 10 minutes.
